Happy New Year!

This wraps 2008 sailing year for me. Oh well. For the first time I have kept track of days on the water. The results are mixed.

1 star days -- 7 days. I wish I stayed home. Days that were not worth it.
2 star days -- 9 days. Not so good, but ok. The wind was gusty or it was cold, the tide was not right, you name it.
3 star days -- 32 days. Just ok, not great. The wind was fine but no ramps, or something prevented me from having all the fun I could normally have on a day like that.
4 star days -- 15 days. Almost great. Everything aligned extremely well. Sunny Windy Nice Ramps.
5 star days -- 0. Out of this world great sailing.

Total of 63 days. First of all I didn't sail as much as I usually do. Especially during the summer, I recall not sailing for more than 2 weeks in a row for a couple of times. This have not happened to me in a few years.. Overall I'm a bit disappointed since I was expecting to get close to 100. But then again I would never go sailing just for the sake of getting to 100. I have also missed lots of days (20 or so) that were really good due to work or school. Well lets hope for more sailing this year..

By the way. Count for this year is 2 and after getting extremely cold yesterday I have decided not to go sailing unless it is 45 degrees or warmer... Check out the snorkeling pics from my vacation in Miami

Another great day of sailing...

Sailed at Matunuc this Sunday. Waves were up to mast high in some sets. Many great local sailors on the water as well as special appearance by maui's own Graham Ezzy. Great to see someone sailing as well as he does, even better he turned out to be a really friendly guy to talk to. Gave us some tips on pushloops and few other moves.. Check out the pictures below!

Yea, by the way. Chris Eldridge have put together a movie from this summer. Take a look below!

Matunuc Wind Classic

Last week we had first annual Matunuc Wind/Wave Classic event. That was good fun. We got lucky and had some pretty good wind, it was warm, not much in terms of waves but hey... you can only expect that much in north east... Check out the pictures below...

long time no see...

first update in a long time. we are having pretty terrible summer here as far as sailing goes..  I have not sailed for some two weeks now and this is not the first two weeks with no wind in last few months... oh well... I can't wait for the fall storms to roll in...

Here is the picture from April 29th, one of the best sailing days I had this year. The picture is from Nahant, wind was pretty good, fairly warm for that time of the year... I wish we had more days like this one. You probably can not tell from the picture but some of the sets were well over head high...

Spring is here or what?

What a day... Finally it is warm, I still used gloves but that was not necessary I guess..

I sailed Kalmus, 3 hours on 3.5 and freestyle 100. I went on the water around 11 and came back at 2. The wind felt quite steady, definitely not bad.. If only we had more days like this one...
